FAQs
What principles sit at the heart of Purple Dragon and The Outpost?
Purple Dragon and The Outpost are guided by five core values: Quality, Passion, Integrity, Innovation and Community.
These values shape how spaces are designed, how teams work, how experiences are delivered and how families are welcomed.
What makes Purple Dragon and The Outpost different?
They were created to solve a common tension: places that work beautifully for one stage of life often fail at another.
Together, Purple Dragon and The Outpost create a joined-up family journey, evolving with families over time, rather than a single, age-bound offering.
What does “learning through play” mean in this ecosystem?
Learning through play means developing confidence, communication, creativity and problem-solving through hands-on, experiential learning.
At Purple Dragon, this is delivered through structured adventures, facilitated play and open exploration. At The Outpost, it evolves into independence, collaboration, creativity and connection.
Is Purple Dragon or The Outpost a school or childcare provider?
No. They are not schools or nurseries, and they do not operate as full-time childcare providers.
Supervised, drop-off services are offered at specific times - such as holiday camps - and babysitting can be arranged by prior booking where available.
Outside of these services, supervision and access are governed by age-appropriate independent access guidelines.
What ages are Purple Dragon and The Outpost designed for?
Together, Purple Dragon and The Outpost support families from babyhood through to adulthood.
Purple Dragon focuses on babies, toddlers, children and families, with experiences designed to evolve as children grow - from sensory and early movement play to more complex creative, physical and social activities.
The Outpost extends the journey, supporting older children, teens and adults with spaces, programmes and experiences designed for independence, connection and continued growth.
Together, they create a joined-up family ecosystem that evolves with families over time.
Can children access activities independently?
Yes, age-appropriate independent participation is encouraged and supported, with clear distinctions by age, location and programme.
Younger children get the most out of activities when a parent or trusted adult plays alongside them. As children grow in confidence and capability, many experiences can be enjoyed independently, with teams facilitating, encouraging inclusion and supporting positive participation.
Independent access always varies by age, activity, environment and individual readiness, and is guided by safety and developmental appropriateness.
What kinds of activities and experiences are offered?
Experiences span art, music, cooking, swimming, movement, imaginative play, STEM, golf, sport, and wider social and cultural programming.
They are delivered through structured classes, themed adventures, pop-ups, camps and facilitated free play, with new experiences introduced regularly.
How do we keep the experience fresh?
In short: no two weeks feel the same.
Each month has an overarching theme that evolves week by week, with all classes and adventures linked to the theme. This is supported by seasonal moments and signature events, ensuring a connected and immersive experience throughout the club.
Who delivers experiences and supports members?
Experiences are delivered by Play Ambassadors, Outpost teams and specialist partners, supported by hospitality, concierge and operational teams.
They are guardians of standards, culture and ethos. They are not one-to-one carers outside of supervised services.
Is this ecosystem for adults too?
Yes — intentionally.
Adults can participate, socialise, work, eat, relax or connect, while children and teens engage in age-appropriate experiences.
Who is this for?
Purple Dragon and The Outpost are for families who value quality time, community and meaningful shared experiences, at every stage of life.
How are Purple Dragon and NEXUS Luxury Collection connected?
Purple Dragon and NEXUS are part of the same family, sharing values around quality, community and exceptional experiences. Purple Dragon experiences are integrated into selected NEXUS clubs and destinations.
Purple Dragon focuses on families and children. NEXUS offers a broader global lifestyle and hospitality network.
