COOKING

Our mini master chef cooking lab is packed full of child friendly kit; from safety knives to blenders, banana cutters to miniature whisks, meaning our little chefs can chop, concoct and create like the big guys.

Each week there are new recipes to try and new skills to master! From measuring, blending, chopping, slicing, grating, whisking, kneading, rolling and mixing, our mini master chefs concoct yummy creations facilitated by our chef of the day. Wonky vegetables, chocolate splatters and funny shaped bakes are all part of the fun!

A recent study by City University London found that cooking classes and courses aimed at younger children had a positive impact on eating habits. Introducing vegetables, fruits and a range of ingredients at an early age is a great way to lay the foundations for a lifelong, healthy relationship with food.

In our classes, toddlers and older children are encouraged to taste, explore and discover new ingredients whilst cooking. Playing with ingredients, creating recipes and having ownership helps build self-confidence, whilst engaging with the process of cooking makes trying new things easier and helps foster a healthier approach to eating as adults.

Our cooking classes in Chelsea have been designed with three key objectives:

• Develop children’s knowledge of the provenance and seasonality of food and ingredients,
• Help children understand the nutritional benefits of food,
• Empower children to experiment with tastes and textures, developing better eating habits from an early age.

From pre-schoolers with a grown-up to independent big kids, our cookery classes and courses are fun, delicious and a great introduction to eating well for life. Designed for all ages, our Power Up Smoothie Shots mini juice master class encourages toddlers and children to explore a rainbow of food colours, chopping fruits and vegetables along with measuring other yummy ingredients such as Camu Camu powder and coconut water. New weekly recipes, in line with the club theme, can include anything from Amazonian Treasure smoothie shots to Mexican Horchata and Catwalk cranberry crush. Wonderful for a refreshing after school boost!

Our Michelin Masters workshop offers members the chance to delve deeper into the process of cooking, learning a whole host of culinary skills. Designed for children aged 2 years and older, our little chefs can explore a range of cuisines and techniques, from Italian, Mexican and Chinese to breadmaking, cake decorating, baking and cooking, there is a culinary flavour and tasty treat to make everyone’s tastebuds sing!

After a hard day of play, it’s time for a cookie monster bake off for the perfect home time snack in our Milk & Cookies class, designed for all ages. Whether it’s glitter shimmer portal vortex cookies, ice striped spicy tigers or jewel berry crowns, children enjoy practising their decorating skills…and of course eating their creations, accompanied by a glass of milk!
